Hi there! 👋

I’m Hun Tae, a Master’s Student in Computer Science at UC Santa Barbara.

I’m deeply fascinated, or maybe preoccupied, with thinking about the nature of intelligence, whether it’s organic or synthetic. As of now, my current interests lie in Mechanistic Interpretability and agentic systems.

Outside of research, I am a deep into hard science fiction. I am a huge fan of SF authors like Ted Chiang and Greg Egan, love the works such as Permutation City, Exelation, and The Three-Body Problem. I’m also into films. Denis Villeneuve is my favorite director, and I love his works, especially Blade Runner 2049, Arrival, and the Dune series.

Other than that, I enjoy weight training, biking along the coast, and watching Formula 1 (Max fan). Lately, I’ve also been getting into running and surfing! 🏄‍♂️

On this blog, I share short notes on papers I’ve read and other topics. Occasionally, I also write about life: reflections inspired by books and sci-fi worlds that shape how I think.
